Ambience and Aroma

This week I am revisiting an online vendor I have shared with a couple of times in the past. Because I have shared them before I thought I would focus on just one area for this post.
The handmade vendor I am referring to is Reef Botanicals, which is the baby of Larissa and Eric. Larissa is very active on the Handmade Artists' Forum, as well as being very active offline as well in her job as a lawyer.
Reef Botanicals brings you wonderful handmade bath and beauty products, such as soaps and scrubs. In this post though I am going to be looking at one of their newer lines.. candles.
There is something about candles, with their soft flickering light, that lends a lovely ambience to any room. When you add to this an amazing fragrance you create an inviting and enjoyable environment. Reef Botanicals create candles with sensational fragrances designed to create specific moods.

Home for the Holidays - evokes memories of pine trees, cookies and candy canes with their amazing fragrance and their rustic red and green colour.

Autumn Harvest - Apples, pears, plums, nuts and cinnamon... the wonderful scents of an abundant harvest come together in these gorgeous mottled red candles.

Chocolate Decadence - The mouthwatering scent of chocolate fudge, with a hint of vanilla and hazelnut, evocative of warm brownies... only you can't eat it!

This is just a small sample of the wonderful candles available at Reef Botanicals. I'd show you more, but then you'd have less reason to wander around their online stores yourself ;)

Reef Botanicals - Handcrafted Heaven

After a lengthy absence from participation on the Handmade Artist's Forum (due to life) I have dived back in, signing up for the newest blog ring.
My first victim guest is Reef Botanicals.
I have 'known' Larissa, one half of Reef Botanicals, for a couple of years now and I am always amazed at the energy and drive she has. Not only does she run Reef Botanicals with her husband, but she is a lawyer and face painter.. as well as being an amazing support to many artisans online with her openness and friendliness. And just recently she has taken cake decorating classes.. maybe I should let her know that a lot of the skills used for cake decorating work really well for polymer clay ;)

But let us focus on Reef Botanicals. The main items handcrafted by them are soaps. Not any old soap.. amazing soap! They have shaving soap, luscious smelling soap (like coffee and chocolate) and healing soap, as well as the incredibly popular Purity soap - the purest Castile soap around. They also make bath salts, candles, bath bombs, scrubs and lip balms.

Handmade Heaven

It is time for another Handmade Artists' Forum blogring featured artisan. This week marks the return of an artisan I have featured before, Larissa from Reef Botanicals. When I first featured her, during the last blog ring, I hadn't really spent that much time interacting with her on HAF, but I have come to realise she is super. She is so multi talented and obviously has a fantastic grasp on her left and right brain. Larissa is a lady who not only makes fantastic handmade soaps and lotions, she also does face painting and she is a lawyer.

Larissa is an amazing supporter of the handmade community, she takes a lot of time every week to really get to know her featured artisans on her blog. I have to wonder how she manages to keep so many balls in the air (yes, ironic, people wonder the same about me).

Now I am somewhat fascinated by handmade soaps and lotions. I dont actually use blocks of soap, I'm a liquid soap and shower gel person, but I love the idea of handmade soaps and will quite happily hoard and admire any that I happen to acquire. I am seriously considering buying some of Reef Botanicals men's line though. I reckon my man would smell pretty awesome after shaving, and there is nothing quite like snuggling into the neck of a freshly shaven, yummy smelling fellow.

The Sweet Scent of Success

I am back with another fabulous HAF blog ring artisan feature. I took last week off, because I was the featured artisan for our ring! But now I am back again, and I get to feature a fabulous artisan. Well, it is really two artisans, a husband and wife team. Larissa and Eric are the amazing talents behind Reef Botanicals. They make soap, lip balms, candles, sugar scrubs and hair care products, all of which are completely natural. They do not use any synthetic fragrances or colourings. Many of their products are simply the colour the ingredients make them. They only use essential oils to fragrance the products, and some products have no extra fragrance at all. Many of their products are suitable for vegans and vegetarians, and due to their naturalness, are suitable for those with sensitive skin too.
I also took a bit of a look around and found out that Larissa is also a face painter as well as being a lawyer. Im not sure how she manages to juggle all those roles, plus maintain all the websites and blogs she has going! And she does all this whilst promoting other artisans and participating on the Handmade Artist's Forum regularly.
